If you dad is not wanting to go to a pro, I can safely say that the reason is he's scared he'll have one lesson, then be told he needs a lot more!
Try getting him to read a couple of books first... I suggest "The Fundamentals of Hogan" by David Ledbetter and "The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" by Ben Hogan.
But ultimatly, in my opinion a pro will want to change your dads swing to one he's comfortable teaching, not nessarcerily one that "fits" him better.
