Let's talk about getting the face square.
Choking down on the club like was suggested
shortens the shaft. Try that and report back
on it. That's a quick fix. I'd like to talk about
making the turn; that may have permanent
results.
I don't like the term "shoulder turn" because
it is a little misleading. The arms continue to
draw back after the "torso and shoulder unit"
have gone through ninety degrees, which they
should have done by the time the hands reach
waist level.
Make the distinction between the takeaway and
the finish of the backswing. Try and have the
trunk and shoulders fully turned by the time the
hands have reached waist level. That is, have
the left shoulder under the chin at the point
the takeaway has been completed.
Where are you contacting the ball? Put some
talcum powder on the ball to find out, or
look at the tee marks on the sole.
