I let my hands drop into the release position using their own weight, I then drive the club through with my right side using a late release of the wrist angle to generate speed.

I don't like blowing my own trumpet but I can drive the ball a good distance and am rated with some of the longest hitters in my club, I am told by my fellow golfers that my swing is slow and smooth with very good results.

My advice would be to concentrate on timing, avoiding power leaks and keeping a smooth tempo. You are on the right track though.
