Of course, if you are uncomfortable de-lofting your club, you could always get a driver with a small head and 8-9.5 degree loft. I have 290cc driver and what I did was cut the shaft at around 40 inches. It gives me great control and very low drives. I use it on windy days or as a number 1 fairway wood. Being a very versatile club, I can also slow my swing up and hit a nice low drive that will carry around 150 yards without the apex being anymore then 25 or 30 yards off the fairway. It took me some practice to perfect, but on a windy par 3 I can leave my usual high flying 7 iron in the bag, take out the "mini driver" and cut under the wind to the green. It works for me. It may or may not work for you. That's something you'll have to figure out for yourself.
