Could you be re-gripping in mid swing? Thus making the grip too strong? The grip tends to govern the "spin" of the ball not the initial direction of the ball flight though.

I thought if the ball is going straight left (rather than curving as in a draw or hook) it means you could have the ball too far forward.

Another hypothesis: you could be coming slightly from the outside in across the target line. This combined with a closed face (relative to the target but actually stright relative to your club path) would tend to send the ball left. The opposite of a push.

The 9 ball flight rules apply I think. (See the attached diagram)
