If the ball climbs quickly and then dies, there's excessive backspin being created somehow. Usually it's because you're placing the ball too far back in your stance and / or t-ing the ball too low. I would definitely experiment with ball position and check the impact position on the club face.
The driver needs to hit the ball as it is coming OUT of the bottom of the swing almost on an upward trajectory. So if you think about it, place the ball in such a way that it "gets in the way" of the club face. That's all there is to it.
You need to pay very close attention, so each time you set up EXACTLY the same way. Keep adjusting until you find the spot where the ball consistently goes on that perfect trajectory no slice or hook. Do the same nice easy swing you use for your
irons. The way you strike your
irons I would say you should EASILY be able to hit the ball 220-240 yards.
I think I remember you had a really nice swing so keep at it!
