I would suggest you play a few of your local courses first and see which one you prefer, take into account the course, friendliness, cost, ease to get to, how busy it is at times you are able to play etc. Most courses in the UK are low on members, ask at the pro shop when the are likely to have an offer on such as no joining fee, some may even offer to give you discount even if they don’t have an offer on at present. Also ask other members what they think and find out how often the course closes in the winter, some close at the slightest hint of rain others try to stay open as much as possible. |
