Wow - sorry I missed this one, bill.
There are some clubhead designs out there that are 'maximum forgiveness' designs, or 'maximum game improvement', and in doing so, have made the sole very, very wide. So wide, in fact, that when sitting at address, you can see it behind the topline. Now, there's only a few sets out there like this (Golfsmith special force irons come to mind), but when I try to hit them, I can only see that sole sticking out.
