On the driving range, it's really easy to get into a rhythm where you can hit nice shots one right after the other; doing the same thing on the course is a different ballgame. Remember, on the course there are uneven lies, bad lies etc.etc.
The second thing is when you are swinging in the house you have no feedback. You could be laying the club off so bad it's not funny but you don't know. Practice makes permanent, not perfect as the old saying goes.
