I am not sure what you mean by the quote above. Don't you consider keeping the head down a part of good swing mechanics?
Actually, the reason to try to keep down is that if you lift your head up
too early, most of the time you will straighten your knees and/or back as well, change your pivot point upwards and most probably top or thin the ball.
The way Annika or Jack moves their head is different from what we are talking about
: their head follow their body naturally in a sideways motion, not up and down.
