You should not change anything about your swing or ball position etc just because your of the fairway mats.
Not many
clubs still use these dreadful things, we have a very very very strict policy about winter golf, "get caught not replacing a divot in winter" and you are banned for three months, get caught twice your (IPSO FACTO).
Works really well, although the crows still lift a few it doesn't affect the turf come summer, it's a good point to raise about mats, if I practice alot off mats, I always catch the first few shots thin on the course.
This proves one thing your mind controls the Golf shot sub-conciously, thus you make a swing change 50% of the change is convicing your mind you are changing something.
Don't worry about the mats.................be confident.
