You have touched on a very important point about lessons, the important thing is to find a pro that delivers what you want, but first you must look at yourself are you a feel learner or visual......??? It's very important in Golf to know,
I am a visual learner show me my swing and I can understand what I need to do to improve, yet try to explain and your wasting your time.

Some players are feel players, they try the new move feel what it was like and then learn.

The guys you talk about having no lessons are all visual learners, they have watched other people and simply mimiced their movements and then simply never thought about it again, these are usually the true pros, they play the game not play swings.


Can you think for a minute how good at golf you would be if you played it like you drive a car, you grip the steering wheel so lightly and perform all the movements without thought, yet rarely ever make a mistake, yet when you had driving lessons you struggled to think of all the different things you had to do.........................Golf is just the same.
