| Re: Stapleford for Dummies What we do is this... The game is based on 39 points. We then add or subtract from that handicaps. I am a +3 handicap, so I start with 42 points. We then subtract points as we play each hole.
0 - double bogie
1 - bogie
2 - par
3 - birdie
4 - eagle
If you have a 9 handicap, then you start with 30 points. If you make par on the first hole, you now have 28 points, and so forth. We play for $1 per point difference at the end. If everyone plays to their handicap, the final score should be three points. We also play that if you get to negative points, the bet doubles. And everybody is playing everybody else.
It makes it easy for different handicaps to play together.
