IMO, putting is feel.

I suppose you got to find a way that works for you.

I don't mean to be long winded but:

My understanding is there are two types of putting strokes which involve the length of the stroke, ball position and the line of the club head during the stroke.

The length of the stroke is either one back one forward, or, one back two forward. The former's speed doesn't change throughout the stroke and the ball is in the middle of the stance. The latter requires accellaration through the ball and the ball placed forward in the stance.

Then, there is the stroke itself - I won't go into that.
