If you think the shaft is lagging behind, get something low torque (2.2 or less), and tip stiff/stable. If you can't 'load' it, it can't 'lag' behind. Granted, your feel is going to decrease (the ball will feel more dead, even on good hits).

Is that actually what's going on? I can't tell without video. I can tell you that this idea of the hands lagging behind has caused me more trouble than I care to think about. Making a nice, smooth, synchronized swing produces good results for me. I'm also a 23 handicap - so take that into consideration.

As for your gear, get thee to a clubmaker. Get it spec'd for loft and true flex. Your S may be an A, or soft R. If you're truly gaining more clubhead speed, then you very well could be overpowering the shaft.
