Hi Slats,
Creating a program to help you with your golf fitness is something I can do. I don't like to give general advice as everybody is different and will have specific needs and limitations. However, having said that for most golfers I would focus on the following;
- building a degree of aerobic fitness
- base level of overall body strength
- specific focus on core work
- specific focus on stability and more importantly dynamic stability (i.e. being able to maintain a stable body position throughout the swing)
- specific focus on power development (despite what people think - golf is an 'explosive' sport)
- specific focus on flexibility - this is one of the most beneficial aspects of fitness but tends to get ignored by most people. It is particularly important in golf.
Next year I am planning to specialise solely on golf fitness; hopefully this will allow me to give up sitting at a desk for a living!
