A Great Book - Highly Recommended

I've just finished reading a book call 'The greatest game ever played' by Mark Frost and would highly recommend it.

It is a superbly written book about the 1913 US Open held at Brookline.

The primary story of the book focusses on two main players - Harry Vardon (considered to the greatest player in the world at the time) and a young amateur named Francis Ouimet playing in his first competition.

Not only does the book provide a brilliant account of the tournament, it manages to incorporate a great deal of social history, the development of the game of golf and player biographies which allow you to really get a sense of what they were like as people.

If you enjoy golf this is a must read.
