The last part of your comment, I think you certainly are on the right track. You have reduced the three putts' by practicing your putting, good for you, you obviously have the desire to improve that part of your game.
And with dedicated practice those putts that you missed that you felt you could have made will start to drop. Your positive attitude will be a great help, keep at it and good luck.
