Talking Hopefully Getting Ready for Spring

From Ian Hancock in another thread
Quote:
What your forgetting is that in spring and certainly summer you will be 20/30 yds longer and also a much better feel good factor, a dam sight less clothing on, your shafts work better, your ball will be softer and draw better, you won't slip on the tees in the frost or get mud splattered in your face at impact......you won't have leggings on, or your cheaper winter shoes and wolly socks, your fingers will not be cold...............your nose will not be dripping snot on your ball at address.
Well as the 1st GTO open gang know I was a bit of a pussy n cried off after 7 holes with a dodgy back. Months of physio and a few false dawns has allowed me to read the book from front to back several times. To this end it has resulted in 2 or 3 visits to the range and 3 rounds of golf since Sept but armed with vast amount of 3skills knowledge.
However i ventured out today fairways soft n wet, greens very soft and bumpy, off winter mats although the air was cold the frost was just thawing due to a clear sky and low sun.
Armed with winter woolies and the 3 skills knowledge. Boom my 1st shot a 4 wood 200yrds, 5 yards short of the pond, sand wedge over 2 putts and a nice par, this set the tone and 18 holes later i came off with a very respectable 79 (sss 70 although it is an easy open course to play)
Taking into account Mr Hancocks quote, the lack of golf, I put this down to the knowledge and confidence the 3skills has given me. Do not rush it and make sure you digest ALL the information and tips.
Roll on the Spring

Cheers Keith
