Not sure about the soreness, but you need to feel like the club stays in front of you more than it does now and you need to swing left after impact. If you are too inside (which is what it sounds like), try holding your hands high into the backswing and as long as possible into the downswing. This will help keep the club "in front of you" and keep it from dropping inside (behind you) as you make your transition.

To expand on Brian's idea of weakening your grip: I prefer a nuetral grip to begin with. Maybe you need to experiment with that. My grip is slightly weaker than neutral because I like a perfectly flat left wrist at impact.
