I shall have to pull it out (excuse the pun) but my latterday Guru Norbington Hackett had some sound advice in his book "The 256 fundamentals of the modern golf swing" He insisted that the use of Ball Retrievers in golf was not cricket as their bark is rather off putting and the way they splash around in water hazards is not good for the wildlife.
He did have a rather radical opinion for it's time on the psychological effects of using these modern non canine devices in that (and I quote) "Any golfer that carries more than one ball in his bag will never reach his full potential in golf or life"
Will we ever see the likes of him again?
