Just going back to the finishing wheel, they costs a bomb! I think it's the 3M Scotch-brite wheel, £45+tax here, but I'm shure that is for a high volume one. just need one to fit on a drill for the hobbyist.

What is normally the order of process when finishing off the sole? Do I sand the plug flush with medium then fine sandpaper, then remove scratches with a nylon wheel, then buff up with a finishing wheel? I've got the 1" 3M trizact belt for preparing graphite tips - could I use this in place of the finishing wheel?
