Personal Best

Now, I'm sure to some of the other more advanced enthusiasts on the site a 74 is a tough day at the office but it was my personal best, beating the 75's I shot earlier this year. This came with my best front 9, and one of my better back 9's until 17 and 18.

I went 36-38, and had a great chance to go under on the front but put my teeshot into the left trees and had to waste a shot coming back into the fairway. Stuck a 3/4 wedge from about 70 to 12 feet and lipped the par for a final hole bogey 36. I was kind of choked.

For 17 and 18 also I was in the fairway for both but on 17 came up short and chili-dipped my pitch to 20+ feet and had a testy putt that I couldn't knock down. On 18 again I was in the fairway with a full PW in from about 140 (or so I thought) but I must've had some adrenaline and put it right over the flag about 10 yards deep into a trap. Came out too clean and made bogey for a 38.

Now like I said this might not impress alot of people but for a self-taught (formerly 8, after this I'm now a) 7 handicap I'm pretty happy. Not that this is imperative to mention but I don't practice much either, I just play about 5 times a week rather than hit the range 5 times and play twice.
