Ragman,

Please go back and reread chapters 4, 5 and 7-10. You know what I'm talking about. Something in what you said earlier in this thread got me to thinking where you have been getting your info.

Ragman, the information in the "Yellow Book" is generally to advanced for most students. Students grasp simple easy to understand concepts. Mental pictures are good. Common movements they can mimic to grasp a concept. Butch Harmon is one of the best teachers on the planet. He teaches in an easy to grasp manner. Dave Pelz who puts in an enormous amount of hours into research. He is a great teacher of mental pictures not just quoting others research or his own. If you have ever talked to him, you would know what I am talking about.

Engineers have debated Homer's book on many levels. I have debated his points and don't see eye to eye on others. I have used high speed video to see some of the concepts for myself. I applaude you for wanting to learn the engineering concepts behind a golf swing.

Knowledge from a single source can be a dangerous thing. Every teacher and every student can learn from each other. Kinesiology is not an exact science and it can't all be explained by engineering. The human body true is a machine as Homer states but the "Yellow Book" doesn't explain the mental part of the game nor the "Feel" aspect of he game. It doesn't explain how to coach yourself on the course or how to quiet yourself on a tough shot.

There is more to the game than the engineering, it's about a person's fun level and helping others to find it on their level not my level.
