| Re: clubmaking terminology help Torque is the description of how much a shaft will twist during the swing. The average golfer (driver swing speed between 90 and 115 mph) should choose shafts with a torque between around 4 (3 or 5 is ok, too). Tour pro's can get away with torque ratings of 2 (due to really high swing speeds, and really loading their shafts).
So take the speeder with the 3.7 torque.
Bend Point, aka Kick Point, is simply where the shaft flexes. Again, golfers with slower swing speeds (<90 mph) should be choosing low bend point shafts (which launch the ball higher).

PCS Class 'A' Clubfitter A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor. |
