I think whenever you turn a foot in, it tends to reduce motion in the lower body. I went to the driving range today and brought just one club and experimented some more. I found this to be a good stable stance for me. I'd set up my shot as precisely as possible, feet square to target line, adjust distance from ball, arm position, etc. The very last thing I'd do before swinging was shift my right heel out a bit, no more than an inch. This points my knee toward the target a little, so that when I do my downswing my hip rotates more readily. And the stance feels more stable than when I shift both feet, which I discussed in another thread. I think I'll stick with this for a while. I was pretty satisfied with my practice session.
