Re: Grip

Hi Panushjo,

Here's one way to learn how to properly grip a golf club:
Before you grip the club, stand straight up with your arms hanging comfortably at your sides. Notice how your hands naturally turn in so that the palms point more behind you and your thumbs touch your sides.
Now, take your club in your left hand (for right-handers) and allow the grip to rest down in the fingers. Create a proper grip by making sure that your left hand remains turned slightly to the right, just as it was before you gripped the club. As you position your left hand, be sure to monitor the clubface to make sure the leading edge is in a square position.
When you close your left hand, the heel pad should rest on top of the grip. When you put the club at address you should see at least two -- possibly three -- knuckles when you look down.
Finally, match your right hand to the left by fitting the left thumb snugly against the lifeline of your right palm.
Both v's next to your thumbs should now be pointing to your right shoulder.

Check your reflection in a mirror or window.

Hope this helps.

Ian.
