That’s nice to hear. I myself have enjoyed golf for the past15 years, playing cricket for 20 years prior to that; I wish I had taken up golf a lot earlier, but that the way it goes. I have achieved a handicap of 1.7 and am now 49; I would love to reach the magic scratch level before my 50th next February, we will see!!

I have also made a video collection of my favourite players, something that I could relate to when practicing and playing on the course.

I have never had a lesson in the art of golf but continue with my own style of play, you could say it’s a bit unique, but the basics and fundamentals must be part of any golfers swing. When you see A Darcy against Tiger Woods you would think that they are playing different games, but the truth is the good players impact the ball with pure timing and precision. And what went on before the impact is neither here nor there you could say.

I have played many sports so my wife says haha, and I suppose have some sort of natural ability in timing and balance, this has no doubt helped me play this great game of golf, I think the most important lesson I have ever learned is try to hit the ball with 75 percent of your power not 120 percent, this gives you the opportunity to find those golf planes/retention of angles etc.

And if you’re real lucky you can watch the ball through impact and squeeze it off the turf. This is what I have witnessed and is such a great feeling and feedback to your brain.

I have experience in work as a trained engineer and toolmaker, and enjoy developing products to help produce a good impact; maybe we could discuss the pros and cons of my latest invention sometime.

Regards Cliff

PS Each player finds different methods to produce what he or she finds will work for them, I am sure given the opportunity of seeing and working with a teaching pro I would have achieved my goal by now. How knows!! But I cant roll back the clock of time.
