Separated? There is no reason to have hands separated in the 10-finger grip, nor would it be desirable. The position of my hands on the club is exactly the same as it would be in the other two grips, with one small difference: the right hand is slightly lower. How much lower? The width of my right pinky.
I used the interlock grip for a year, but found that it made my fingers hurt after a while. I do have big hands, so maybe that's why.
Note that some players use a half-overlap grip, in which the pinky of the right hand only half covers the index finger of the left.
