I purchased a red speedstick quite some time ago - it has been perhaps a year or so. There is no question that the speedstick WILL increase your swing speed. I am not aware of anyone who has used one consistently, who hasn't increased their swing speed. I posted things about the speed stick quite a while ago. However, I also found that I wasn't hitting the ball proportionally further, in relation to my increased swing speed. If you can work on your mechanics, I think the speedstick is a worthwhile investment.
One thing I liked about it is I can modify my swing and get instant feedback on the speeds I am generating.
I am reading Tiger's book - "How I Play golf" and he states that he uses a weighted club.
