I i was taught to use the overlap, or vardon grip. I have had pretty good success using it, but in the last 6 months i have tried the interlock grip and found that using that i felt more controll with my hands. To add to your question it is personal perfence which grip you use. you cannot get into swing problem from using one grip or another, but you can from not gripping correctly.
