Since both hands are connected, swatting can only be done with both wrists. So in a sense you could be right - it might be possible to design one for the left wrist, but I'm not an expert in design or what other possible side effects it might have, so I am guessing it was probably easier to design one for the right wrist. It could also be because in a swat, you tend to use the right hand to flick foward, rather than use the left to flick backwards. Same as in the racquet games, I think the forehand comes more naturally than the backhand stroke.
It's probably possible to not swat even though the hand are not sufficiently in front of the clubhead - maybe due to incorrect setup and backswing. So I am thinking the secret also has a function of ensuring the clubhead doesn't catch up with hands (without swatting), a huge power leak. |
