I firmly believe it.
Using a top pros game as a comparison to our own doesn't hold up as they are excellent in all departments (usually).
A better comparison of a top player would be Jose Maria Olazabel who isn't the best driver in the world (understatement) but who's skill with the putter has dug him out of some very deep holes.

How many times does the average player ,who has hit a green in regulation ,walk away with a bogey?

Give me putting over yardage every time.
