skying a 9.5 would be a swing issue and not a club issue
You might not have changed anything with the new club, but less loft means that sidespin has more control over the ball (less backspin to keep it straight)

The pro's are moving to wards the higher lofts, away from the 6,7,8's as more height, with the correct trajectory, means more distance.
