Another thing you may want to look at is the size of the 2 drivers. if the new one is bigger (or deeper) than the old one and you use the same tee height, than you may sky the ball more ofter with the smaller driver.

.....also, yea, 1 degree actually makes a big difference. i read an article in golf magazine proofing that a high percentage of average golfers are using drivers with less loft than they should be, most of them drive the ball straighter and further just by switching to a driver with a couple degree more loft. (with instant demonstration at the range.) Hope this information would help.
