| Re: Nassau's (the game) At my club we play 5 bet. We usually have about 20 guys in our chooseup. We all throw in 10 a piece for skins (they do carry over). We then split up into 5 foursomes or 4 fivesomes. The 5 bets are as follows: holes are 1 bet, birdies are 1 bet, greenies on par three are 1 bet, sand saves are 1 bet (only to save par or better), and the last of the five bets is what we call gators. Gators are when you chip in from off the green for par or better. It is really fun and you can make more than one bet off of one shot. For example the most bets or dots as we call them (becasue we put a dot on the scorecard for the bets) is a sandy gator birde. Say on a par five you hit your second shot in a greenside bunker. You then blast toward the hole but you don't get your third shot onto the green it is on the fringe. If you hole that shot from the fringe it would be a sandy gator birdie which is 3 bets. You can make the bets any dollar amount. |
