I bought the Refiner and I think it's junk. The main difference is the design of the hinge. The Refiner requires you to adjust tiny hex screws on each side to the shaft to adjust when the hinge breaks. It's finiky and requires adjustment all the time. Also the actual hinge design itself is very weak and impossible to fix if (when) it breaks. Mine broke and I was sent a new one with no questions asked, so their customer service is good (just to be fair). The DVD that comes with the refiner is a bit amaturish if you ask me. You can't really hit balls that well with it (at least I couldn't and that's how I broke the first one).

I re-gifted the replacement one for an office Christmas gift so it worked out in the end!

The Medicus has a much better design for the hinge. You can see the design o each if you search the US patent office for the design registrations.
