Bah - still no internet connection!!

Having moved, I'm still not online - in an Internet cafe at the moment.

Hope you're all ok, and that I'll be back to the party soon!

Take care

PS- came 2nd in the medal on Sun; nett -5

Hot diggity damn Slats, I know he's improving but he's not that good

I'm actually hoping that my Internet will go down so that I'm not tempted to describe in full depressing detail how my game's gone south since my hopeful end of term report.

One small (and typical) example will suffice - on the range luckily - took what felt like a lovely smooth swing (driver) only to see the tee sail down the "fairway" and the ball drop neatly to the ground exactly where it had been teed up.

Thank F*** I was on my on on the grass area as the embarrassment would have been excruciating; as it was I'm not sure whether my tears were frustration or laughter.

To make matters worse the 3 Skills seem to have kicked in on my irons and I don't think I've ever hit them so well - I'm just palying most of them from just short of the Ladies Tee

Re: Bah - still no internet connection!!

Have not played much over the last three weeks due to Christmas shinanigins but back to normal now.

I had a range session last night and it was a dream, all clubs firing from the hip for a change. I have been working on keeping my rotation very stable with minimal sway and that has certainly shown an improvement in my driving and fairway wood shots.

Have a winter doubles first round game tomorrow against the club Captain and head green-keeper so it should be interesting. May even have a pop at the January medal Sunday.

Nice to hear from Bulldog again, Slats should be awesome after his fitting session based on his last few games, Robin and that godamm driver?

Hope Christmas was as good as you hoped Brian with all the family around.

That damned driver indeed* unfortunately I think I've really got to get it working consistently now.

Mother Christmas has kitted me out with some great new tops, which is good ofcourse but my son has pointed out "Dad, you need to be play better than you do to carry off those colours and Poulteresqe styles ... and lose the beer gut as well!".

Cheeky G*T, but he might be right; the powder blue does deserve a decent tee shot! And I think hitting the driver will be easier than giving up the beer

Robin

* PS

It's not that I can't use it at all, it's more that when it goes wrong it really really goes wrong; I must be the only person who'd kill for a scruffy, so-so, "ah well at least I'm away" shot from the tee to complement the occassional awesome boomer.

Thanks Robin. Christmas was great, had a game of golf with my son while he was over (can he hit a long straight drive!) Little Johnny was great and it was nice to have my two beautiful daughters around.

Hey! you with your powder blue top and Slats with his orange trousers would make a great two ball pairing for a comp, well that's until the other pairs eyes have adjusted.

Might get the new duds our now; just back from a range session and was hitting the driver a lot better and my new 4-wood was looking a pretty good fall back.

How did the fitting go; and in particular what shaft length did they recommend? I'm wondering whether I should have my driver shortened to improve control.

Ignoring specific personal customisation fro the moment what in principle do people think about going for 44" instead of 45"?

OK mate; I'll start a new thread:

"What shaft length would you prefer?", one for the "Ladies Lounge" perhaps
