Post World Cup Fever

Well I can't believe I find myself mentioning what we have all been reading in the papers and listening to everyday since it happened, but here goes anyway.

We are hours away from finding out whether Wayne Rooney will be fit to play a role in England's Team for the World Cup 2006.

Also the hospital that Wayne Rooney was scanned at today was evacuated due to a fire alert:

Good Luck to all the England Squad... bring it home boys

Re: World Cup Fever

Well Greg,

Finally, a chance for you Poms to beat us Aussies in something

Now we don't need to mention the last cricket tour - you were lucky. Nor, the Rugby Union - again lucky. Now, what is that little Johnny up to? I haven't heard anything about him since he kicked the winning goal in the final.

Cool Re: World Cup Fever

Hi Greg,
The Trinidad & Tobago team is in the same group with England and Sweden, and while the rest of the world hardly expects much from our Soca Warriors, we may well spring a few surprises and upsets. Our captain Dwight Yorke ,in addition to being an international football star, is also an avid golfer. The rest of the team comprises international and home based talent. With a combination like that, we are sure to do quite well.

Hi Nicole,

Poor old Johnny - he hasn't had the best of luck the poor fella. Charlie Hodgson seems to have dominated that position since Johnny's injury problems...

As for the football, well as usual the papers over here are full of expectation. You just can't get away from it.... still should be good to watch...

Cheers
Greg

Hey Curtmay,

Yeah you guys could spring a few surprises... you just never know with the World Cup it seems to add that extra edge. Enjoy.

Re: World Cup Fever

Hi Curtmay,

Well you were right you certainly caused an upset.......thankfully not against the mighty England.........yet!!!!!!

My son forgot to mention that Chris Birchall plays for Port Vale....our local team and we are season ticket holders, we can safely say that Trinadad and Tobago have some class players.

Big day Thursday..................!!!!

Ian.

Cool Re: World Cup Fever

Hi Ian,
Thanks. We actually did it with just ten men in the second half. Celebrations were wild throughout the country. Thursday is certainly going to be a big day. We heard that England is rethinking strategy. Whatever the outcome, its going to be a game worth watching, and hopefully at the end T & T will be celebrating!

Cheers Mate
Curtis

Nicole - Great performance from your guy's today... I think they could have been a very good wager to go reasonably far. Gus has taken two teams to the semi's before...

Re: World Cup Fever

Hi Greg,

Didn't see the game but it's all over the media this morning. Great effort by the boys 3 - 1 ..............

It's a pity Guus is going to coach another country after this.

Re: World Cup Fever

Go Australia
There hasn't been a real upset YET.I think the Roo's can sneak a few past Italy.

Word is that Gus gets a 850 k bonus for reaching the second round!

I may need my gum boots to play tommorow.

Thankyou
Russell Hier
