world cup disgrace

Hey all,
for anybody whos interested in the world cup, do you agree that most of the so called pro footballers are big style cheats after all if you cheat in (golf, cricket, snooker, rugby ect) you would be penalised and in some cases suspended from the sport, or even banned,

I was always led to beleive that when penaltys are taking place it is against the rules for the goal keeper to move of his line before the ball is struck by the penalty taker, Iam not trying to defend the penalty taking by the england team as the were appalling. but the ref only a few yards away was oblivious.

And As for Ronaldo the big girl, what a w.....er eh if I was to bump into him em, he just proved that when he winked at his bench , that what he did was premeditated, and should be heavily fined and play no further part in the world fiasco,I mean cup, I do hope people will add to what I have to say and look forward to what others think

hi killer
great points you made
i cant quote official rule numbers but you are right goalkeepers can move along the line flap their arms do want they want but they cannot advance off the line until the kick is taken!
a penalty takers run up must be at a constant pace no slowing down speeding up and in a straight line no jinking no shimmying which is what that t*rd did
any red fan in manchester will back rooney 100% and that spells bad news for ronaldo
oops isnt this a golf forum

Re: world cup disgrace

I suppose England players never dive eh?

Great world cup is in danger of being spoiled by a bunch of diving, injury-feining cry babies, on virtually every team. It gets so bad that players are prepared to go off the field and miss the resulting free kick that they won with their acting. Christ, if Portugal had actually had a few shots at goal instead of shreiking and going to ground every two minutes, England would have been well beaten and then Gerrard an co wouldn't have had to make such idiots of themsleves in the penalty shoot-out. Same with Brazil vs France, 1 decent shot on goal by Brazil, pathetic.

Re: world cup disgrace

If you want dignity try hockey...

Canadian joke:

"Hey, I was watching the fight the other night and a hockey game broke out!"

At least if a hockey player goes down from a puck to the face or a stick in the eye, there's blood all over the place and you're pretty sure he's not faking!

I mean to watch these millionaire athletes writhing around in "agony" from having their shin kicked... it's pathetic.

On the subject of the Portugal goal. The player's run-up was absolutely illegal. But England didn't help themeseves with all those lousy kicks!

Re: world cup disgrace

The diving and teathricals by Portugal and Italy (and many others) is nothing but a disgrace and they should both be disqualified. I wasn't the biggest fan of England before the cup, but I can say that the mostly play fair and don't dive at every opportunity so I am sad they are out.

Did you see that great actor Maniche (among many others in Portugal)?! If he lost the ball, he threw himself on the ground, holding his hands over his face as if he got elbowed and the ref bought it every time. He should have been given a red card and sent off. It was a disgrace. Reminded me of that great actor Rivaldo...

As for Rooney, apparently C.Ronaldo said something to make him go off completely. He might have a temper, but at least he's a honest guy and a hard worker, not to mention a great player.

I'm hoping for Germany and France in the final.

Re: world cup disgrace

Well, I quit playing soccer after 8 years. The older people got, the more they tend to fake....absoluted hated that and the world cup hasnt changed my opinion on it. It has certainly ruined what could be a really good game. Being Australian and seeing the PK in the final minutes was completed devastating. Couldnt believe the ref fell for that! Australia is not a team that fakes either so we got pulled up big time by the refs at all the matches. I really think video referee should be the way to go. Its impossible for refs on the field to call if someone is really faking or not. If they can do that, it should clean up the game....

cristiano ronaldo was well out of order, he cheated when rooney got sent off. england can never win on penaltys though they are rubbish at them. i would'nt like to be ricardo carlvaho [who rooney trod on] it stings.

Re: world cup disgrace

Hey guys,

Cool down. The plain truth is that both ronaldo and rooney were both wrong and to make matters worse it will probably affect the team spirit at Man U in the new season. I dont think that these two guys will be singing from the same hymn book again. It wouldnt surprise me if Ronaldo doesnt come back to utd. Add to this the problem with Ruud Van Nistlerooy and there wont be much to cheer as a utd supporter
