| Hi everyone I'm organising a golf weekend for a friend's stag bonanza and am looking for some fun stuff to do on the course. Someone has suggested to me a game call monkeys and camels in which you count the times you hit a tree or end up in the sand but I’m sure their are some other crazier games out there. Please send me your golf course games. We will of course be involving money and the 19th will be not for the faint hearted. By the way there are twelve of us so three four balls and we'll mix it up every day Thanks for your help |

| Re: Golf fun Well, here, there's a 6-6-6 tournament (You play 6 holes alternate shot, 6 holes scramble, 6 holes best ball). There's Wolf - every drives, and the wolf either picks a partner (from the drives) or chooses to go it alone before hitting. If the Wolf goes alone and outscores the other 3, he gets 3 times the points. There's Bingo-Bango-Bongo: Points are awarded for 1st on the green, closest to the hole (once everyone is on), and 1st in the cup. You can play this both in the foursome, and high point maker across the 12 of you. There's the 'snake' - anytime someone 3 putts, they get the snake. If 2 people 3 putt, the last one to hole out gets the snake. The snake is given a point or dollar value - he holding the snake loses the points (or owes the money). We sometimes play 'battle golf' (as inspired by a video game) where if you don't win or halve the hole, you 'lose' a club - the winner decides what club you stop playing with. ie I score 3, the others score 4. I can tell the others which clubs are no longer used. I usually start with the putter We use a little red electrical tape on the hosel so we can ID an illegal club (after the honour system stopped working after one guy lost badly two rounds in a row). It's interesting coming to a par 5 where you've got no driver, putter, sand wedge or 3 wood - and there's 550 yards to go.Depending on the level of golfer, you can play a skins game where, say, birdie or better takes the skin. Pars don't do it. My group usually plays par or better (we're bogey-or-worse golfers).

| Re: Golf fun Here's a setup for a 2-day event. You'll need to figure out some sort of handicap system if not all players have official handicaps already. If they do, handicaps of course apply. Day 1: Norwegian stableford. Played like ordinary stableford except every player has to throw the ball once per hole. Can - if the course allows it - be upgraded to a version where the player also has to kick the ball once for every par 4 or par 5 hole. Kicks and throws count as strokes of course. If a player holes out without having used his throw and kick, the penalty is 2 strokes. Between days You tally up the net scores after day one and rank the players compared to the worst player. i.e. Player A - 27 points = 0 Player B - 28 points = 1 Player C - 31 points = 4 Player D - 32 points = 5 etc. Day 2: Flagplay For the second day - being a continuation of day 1 - players are awarded their extra strokes according to handicapped, but are the subtracted shots from their total allocated strokes according to the calculation mentioned above. Now players are back on "equal terms" but the pressure has been put on the players with the good score the day before. Four-balls are now mixed according to the allocated strokes, so that the player with the fewest strokes tees off first and the player with the most strokes tees off last. You can choose to play regular strokeplay now or continue with the 'norwegian format' (including the rules about kicking and throwing), but it is essential now that it is strokeplay and no longer a stableford match. Every player is handed a flag carrying his/her name or player number. The players then tee off, and when they have used up all their shots, they plant their flag at the position where the ball came to rest. The winner is the player who's flag is planted the furthest down the stretch. In case any player manages to finish the 18 holes, the winner is the one with the most strokes left. Sidebets can include: - Longest tee-throw on long par 3 (Mandatory throw on first stroke). - Nearest kick to the pin (must be kicked from off the green) Funny added elements could be: - 1 stroke off for managing to kick out of a bunker, - 1 stroke penalty for deciding to throw out of a bunker. It's not a very serious way of playing golf, but hey - this IS a stag weekend! ![]()
