Tiger is still number 1, no question bout that, but I think Phil will establish himself as the most likely contender now. Tigers mental gifts are his biggest advantage, for sure, but I would say that Faldo and Langer still have the match of him there but as Faldo himself said 'I just dont have the guns anymore'. Tigers ability to save scores by holing half a dozen 10 footers is waning. A telling stat is that he has NEVER come from behind to win a Major and he has never finished second.

Tiger used to be one of the best drivers on tour but no more, I worry that he still suffers from a rather juvenile need to prove his power every time he steps up to a ball. No matter what anyone says his swing looks pretty nasty now compared to when he first joined the tour there looks to be a lot of moving parts for a swing that moves so quickly. Can you picture Tigers short game and mental game in Couples swing? hmmmmmm
