Driver loft too high?

I have a 10 degree driver with a stiff shaft. I hear that you should try to hit the ball with the top of the driver face to get low back spin. The only problem with that is, the higher I tee the ball and the farther foward in my stance I put the ball, the higher I hit it. The trajectory of the ball seems to be more of a traingle that climbs and goes far, then just drops like it hit and invisable wall istead of a nice parabolic line of flight the pros get. Is my loft too high, or my shaft not stiff enough?
