Uh huh ... The swing should be down and through and not just a turn, which will probably see you come over the top and slice. I always advise people to do this:

Swing to the top and stop.

Have a friend grip the clubhead at the top of the swing to stop it from moving.

Turn the lower body round to face the target line ... preferably a little left of the line.

When you do this you should feel the right shoulder (RH person) drop way down inside. If is doesn't you're probably not executing the move correctly. This action promotes the kind of side throw that people talk about, but don't actually and throw the ball. Remember, golf is a left-handed game, so to speak.
