Ben,

If you have 2.5 putts per round = 45 shots

18 tee shots = 18 shots

this leaves you 102 shots = 5 fairway shots per hole including par 3s

If you want to get your score down very quickly to a 28 handycapp I suggest you take a three wood, and an 8 iron down to sand wedge out only for a week or two.

Tee off with the three wood and don't hit anything longer than an 8 iron. This will help get some consistency with your shots and certainly reduce the amount of shots between tee and green.

165 shots per round "you must be fit"
