Lightbulb Re: Changes for irons vs woods

Hi Ben,

There should really be no concious changes made to your swing when hitting woods. The set up is a little different. The main difference being that the feet should be a little wider with the woods. A good indicator is the instep of your feet no wider than shoulder width apart. The ball position with your woods should be approximately opposite the inside of your left heel (right handers). As far as the swing goes you should not be trying to swing the club any differently that you do with your irons. The plane of your swing will change naturally (will be flatter) simply because you have longer club in your hand.

Hope this helps.
