Right Then........Initial Appraisal Time.

If it had just been a sheet of A4 saying "Attack Downwards" I'd have been happy. I Play off 12 but in recent times you'd never know it. I've been really struggling. In the past i've won club comps and consistently played to my handicap and less than it.

At that time my timing was good, proper meaty shots...... then it just went. I've worked hard with varying results but ultimately firing consectutive NET 86's i'd really had it. Quit time I''d had enough.

But in those awful scores there had been glimmers of the former glory's but nothing consistent.

Now STOP, i'm not saying this book has cured me, no way... but the firing down has suddenly brought back the old shot feelings... that's what I was doing before, I remember it!

Don't get me wrong out of a basket of 50 balls maybe at a push 20 were good (or at least of that meaty quality) and another 10 or 15 workable
and yeah a few ghastly thunks, but the basics of club direction has given me a bit to work with and a little skip in my step!

I think that's what the approach is, Simplicity, THE BASICS which ultimately what golf is.

As I've said before it's a well presented and easy to follow book and well produced aswell. Plenty to take in.

Yes there are a few questions about if swing mechanics go wrong but it's as simple as you want to make it.

It's not the ultimate bible of golf to me yet but I hope it will be Because there are things straight away that have worked for me.

Cheers chaps.

Hi Bully,

I like your initial reaction to the book and I think if you are an average golfer this can have instant results.

I take on board your swing mechanics point, mine have changed somewhat, however so has my overhaul game for the better.

Keep us informed how you go when SK2 and 3 kick in.

Still can't find the book that deals with pressure when you standing on the tee with a good score going, everything goes out off the window.

Cheers

Ian.

Re: Right Then........Initial Appraisal Time.

I'm Incorporating skill 2 to into things anyway. Sometimes overdoing it and getting a monstrous hook or a shank. Just a bit of swing thought in thinking "back and in" & "Hit down" and that's it. Obviously I need to groove things better but quite happy so far. The driver needs a bit of work as it's a little bit different impact-wise so was over cooking it a bit. I hit some good ones out on the course though.

Only played 7 holes this weekend as it was blowing an absolute hoolie with heavy rain mixed in but hit better shots and gave myself chance of at least par on most which I haven't been doing.

Simpler thoughts is the way forward for me I think.....but don't even get me started on my putting!
