| Re: 1st time out after reading "nail it" Quote:
I intend to work hard at the range, particularly with the "hitting down" aspect. I'd like more distance with the irons, especially for those 170+ par 3s, it is such a disadvantage to have to hit a 7w or 4h and try and get it to stop. Time is very limited this year and I may not get out often so I am going to try and hit the range a lot and work on the skills for next year. Saying that, and I am sure a few may laugh at this, but I felt like I took a lot of confidence to the course just from reading "nail it" and I really benefitted from the "no swing thought" approach. I am almost literally kicking myself for rushing my tee shot on the second hole and carding a 9 (par 4) and for a few badly thought out short game shots that had me card 3 7s and 2 6s when I was right next to the green in 2. Grrrrrr. Oh well, 1st time out and all, so shouldn't grumble too much and had plenty of positives to take home.
