Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

Skill 1
hit down on the ball (Irons) to impart backspin and get a pure strike off the sweet spot of the iron. Drivers a parallel to the ground impact position.

Skill 2
Connect with the ball at the outermost point of the swing curve gives you a square contact

Skill 3
Turn the blade from slightly open to closed at impact for the boost in power

You need to read the book to do this and to view the drills as it helps to read the theory about it, I am not going to insult the guy and give you everything in a post sorry. Guys it only costs £15 thats cheaper than a lesson, a round of golf or a box of balls.

I agree; as posted earlier -

- I've never asked for everything to be revealed in a thread on here; I merely asked for an indication of the high points.

Teensy bit insulted myself at the suggestion - perhaps unintentional -that I was trying to weasel out of the £15.

Since you'ld already posted the 3 skills involved my OP today ws more about starting a debate about Todd's "AJ" comment and the general pros & cons of the opening / closing approach.

sorry robin no offence intended
personally i find it is hard to get your points accross clearly when posting so would be easier to view the book yourself
if no-one else wants to buy the book then no problem im happy enough that its brought a new lease of life to my game!

No probs.

Just off out for a round - so may be forced to buy a copy on the way home if it all goes Pete Tong

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

Ye no insults intended guys, its just that i have given you the three skills in the earlier post and we both have seen it work on the course, for me to go into it in more depth
1 i would probably explain it wrong or it might be confusing plus it would take me a day to type it
2 you really need to see the drills and its concept to really get a grip of whats involved
3 Kev introduced it to us so i am not prepared to insult him by stating i know everything and probably putting people off if i explain it wrong

Cheers guys and again no insults intended

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

This is a bound book, not an ebook, right? The price and shipping rate are given in pounds sterling; it's not stated whether the same shipping rate applies to purchases from the US. I'm interested in buying it, just based on slats's experience. I have an open mind about these things. I don't think there are "secrets" in golf, but I do think there are ways of teaching and ways of thinking about the golf swing that can be very very helpful for some people; it's a matter of finding a good fit. The "simple swing" system that I recently tried wasn't a good fit for me, but I don't fault the material for that.

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

I went ahead and ordered the book. Hopefully it won't take too long to get to Philly. My ball striking hasn't been too bad lately, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Ok its going on my shopping list now - or rather next time I'm driving past Hersham Village.

I told you about this hook I'd developed.

Not my grip, my arse. I intended to play two 18s today but the first front 9 was so bad that I stopped and went to the range and decided that a minimum 3 knuckles showing was a bit strong for me made some changes, hit some balls and went out again.

First round equalled my PB and the second was 2 over but it struck me that I've been here before and have stuck here for a while.

Like Todd I don't believe in golfing magic but based on what you all say I'll give it a whirl; to see if it moves me to the next level.

Even if doesn't work for me [and it works for you for God's sake ] its less than the cost of 30 minutes 121 tuition and I've wasted a lot of those sessions in the past.

I know I said I'd get the book if things went Pete Tong today and in the event I went out and got a equal PB but it just aint good enough is it?

A year ago I'd have killed to play regularly to 20 so that the 19th hole wasn't a total embarassment but now I just want to be a better golfer, as good as I can get. So open mind.....

All good to read. I'm in the south of France this week - my folks have a place down here, and have played their course twice now. NOT the greatet golf I've ever played but nice to hear the news from home!
