well done it only took you 13 posts to diss the site
do us a favour and bail out
this forum has always had pro,s on the staff and they offer advice for no return.
joe,s book has turned a lot of people's game around and so your accusations of colusion are way off track and offensive

If you have read this thread and others you'll find that whilst I have an open mind I'm not a 100% 3 skiller, far from it, but even I find these comments offensive to the author and others.

Stating that a golf book needs listing on Amazon to have credibility is the same kind of thinking that suggests that only Callaway, TM, or Ping clubs are worth playing with because the component makers don't have celeb golfer endorsements.

It so happens that a number of people on here, whose opinion you might have learnt to respect (even Slats ) if you been here longer than 13 posts, have had first hand experience of 3 skills teaching and their games have improved as part of the experience.

It is their enthusiasm for others to benefit that has led to this thread (out of 60,000+) to be popular at the moment.

There are others on the forum, just as valued, for whom it hasn't worked out, or for whom its not appropriate, or who are following a different path, and their posts get equal air time on here - hardly a 3 Skills network then.

So sure feel free to take your intolerance and cynicism somewhere else, you wont be missed.

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

hi Trad
the fact the Joe Hagen is part of the staff and he has a book that is talked about here a lot don't make this site any the less valued, in fact a lot of members get great pleasure and help from this site that have never read the book. i have not read the book but i have never been pressured into buying or reading the book by anyone and have never been shown anything help from the many that use his book when i have said there book wont work for me.
i do think you have it so wrong about this and you should stick around a bit longer to see just how helpful this site is to everyone that asks for help in any way. even people like me that have a swing that only a few in the world use i find the help here immense and have chatted about 3sk a lot and fond a great deal of help about 3sk from mostly Brian but also many other who use this system.
if you want to learn and to get more out this site then join in the discussion and put your views as you see them, every one is entitled to there views and I think you will find with time that you do have it wrong and hope you stick around to find that out.
cheers
bill

Nicely put, Bill - spot on

How strange the world is... My Grandma said, "It takes all sorts to make a world," and also, "There's nowt so queer as folk," as I suspect she was right on both counts.

I suppose at some point I'll have to read the blessed thing so I can offer some sort of informed opinion. Normally, offering un-informed opinions doesn't bother me, but I want to be on best behaviour...

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

I have not read the Nail It book, yet. Trying to simplify the golf swing is a very, very difficult task...especially in book form. I am a very visual type person and verbal explainations fail to work for me. I usually get it when someone shows me. Is there anyone in the states that teach this "revolutionary concept". I sure would like to see or have someone teach the concept to me in person.
Thanks,
Golfseeker

The book uses very visual techniques and drills, the main themes centre on imagery. Interestingly, it does not explain any swing mechanics at all.

Re: I used the 3 skills and nailed it!

I just got the book a couple of days ago and am looking forward to getting down the range and trying it out - the simple concepts are really attractive in that it doesn't matter how you acheive skills 1, 2 and 3 as long as you get there, and imagine, a physical golf instruction book without a single mention of straight left arms, weight shift or still heads.

I am 14 handicap playing to around 11 at the moment, but having said that, there can't be many people around with similar handicap who's ball striking is so bloody AWFUL (it's all short game and keeping out of trouble with me) my drives go about 200-220yds but at least stay out of the woods, I only hit my 5 iron 150 if I catch it dead right . . . so I am really looking for improvement in that department as I have hit the wall with my game at the moment.

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

I am not the sort of person who is easily impressed with "methods" but I have to say that this 3 Skills approach is incredible!

I bought the book a few weeks ago and worked at the 3 skills. I`m still having problems with the 3rd skill (problems with imagery) but I went out on the course last Sunday and I couldn`t believe how well I was striking the ball. I thought that it might just have been one of those good days so I went out yesterday and today and it`s unbelievable. This system works, end of story! And I don`t work for the company!

the book is very simple to understand, plenty of pictures & photos, provided you fully commit to the book and forget all those swing thoughts that clutter your mind , you should benefit. give it a fair go ,you maybe surprised, and its not expensive.

Cool Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

I there everyone, Kevin McDonald PGA here and authorised 3sk instructor.
Hope you are all well and that you are all enjoying reading the book.
I know every word in there but I still read it everyday. It is simply very refreshing to read. We coach 3skillsgolf at Hersham Village GC in Surrey at the moment. I definitely recommend a 3sk golf lesson. It is a great experience. If anyone wishes to fly us out to any country across the world (business class of course) for a 3sk lesson we would be more than happy to oblige.
I'm the guy hitting the shots in the photos of 'Nail It'
Sorry for my baggy trousers.
I only have short legs.
Still hit it quite far though.....well not bad anyway....not as far as some of the arden boys at the gto golf day
Well I wish you all a good night and happy golfing x x x x

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

Is Hersham GC the only place I can get a 3sk lesson? I'm in east Essex and it's a bit of a trek!

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

Hi Kevin,
I first heard about the 3skills in Golf Punk a few months ago. And I've just recently bought the book, really enjoyed it. Would love to come down to Hersham Village GC for a lesson. What is the address and phone no.? It is a bit of a journey for me (North Londoner), but you can't get this kind of instruction anywhere else can you? I'm really tired of all the namby pamby stuff other pros have weighed me down with in the past, trying to better me swing or whatever. I just want something simple that's going to help me! So I'm really looking forward to having a 3sk lesson... :-)
Also one other question, I want to buy a few copies as Christmas presents... Is the author Joe Hagan able to sign them for me? Perhaps I could pick them up when I organise to come down?
Cheers mate! I'm ready for the 3SK experience! :-D
